Message boost solenoids are removed when installing an EBC. When detonation is sensed and the boost is not cut back due to stock solenoid removal, your timing will significantly retard in an effort to prevent detonation. Hence safety boost occurs indirectly. Shut down your car down, let it sit a minute, then restart and it should reset itself.
